I go by Catherine, Cat, or Catnotkat. I graduated from Pratt Institute with a BFA in Communications Design and an associate degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I am a Chinese American, born and raised in New York. My MBTI is ISFP. My passions include designing, crafting, and baking. In my spare time, I enjoy trying out new hobbies. My favorite food is tacos and my favorite type of drink is bubble tea.
I have been baking since middle school when I decided to bake my dad a birthday cake. I remember we didn't have enough sugar in the house, so I used cinnamon sugar, which made the cake taste like carrot cake, especially since I used cream cheese frosting. Ever since then, I have helped bake for club bake sales or baked just for fun.
I named my family's dog Toro after the character Totoro from the 1998 Studio Ghibli film "My Neighbor Totoro." However, the name Toro also means "fatty tuna" in Japanese and "bull" in Spanish. I didn't choose the name Toto because it was already the name of the dog in "The Wizard of Oz," and I thought Totoro was a bit too long for a pet's name. As a coincidence, my parents owned a Japanese restaurant at the time, so they initially thought I had named my pet after fatty tuna. It's amusing how Toro's appearance can change in photos depending on the length of his hair.
