Fuji East Business Card Design

Independent Project

Project Summary

For this project, I was tasked with selecting or creating a new business and designing a business card and merchandise for that business. I chose to work with my parents' restaurant, Fuji East Japanese Bistro, and used this opportunity to redesign their logo and create merchandise featuring the new design. My goal was to update the existing logo to be more friendly and inviting, while still maintaining the same font that was used in the original design. I wanted to create a logo that conveyed the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, rather than appearing too fancy or expensive. Overall, this project allowed me to apply my design skills to a      real-world business, and I'm proud of the results.

Merchandise Options

As a designer, I envision a range of merchandise options for Fuji East Japanese Bistro, including stickers, mugs, and T-shirts. Additionally, I recognized the opportunity to update the design of the business cards that are distributed to customers at the restaurant. The current design is outdated, and I believe that refreshing the aesthetic of the business cards would be a simple yet effective way to enhance the overall brand image of the restaurant. Another opportunity I see for design improvement is the mint wrappers that are given to customers. The current wrappers are white with a thank you message, but I believe that incorporating the Fuji East logo into the design would add a cute and cohesive touch to this customer gesture.
